During the Fall of 2020, I decided to join my alma mater Davenport Central's coaching staff as the Wide Receiver coach. This was my first year coaching alongside one of my former teammates Coach Prentiss Hood. (double click video after ad on mobile to full screen).
It was a no brainer when the opportunity approached me to become a coach as a former player. I wanted to bring positive leadership, knowledge and enthusiasm to the student-athletes on the football program and watch them develop their character on and off the field.
One of the biggest lessons I took away from coaching is patience. Understanding that it will take time for kids to trust the process and work everyday to get better. Working along the coaches so we're all on the same page to better the program, while enjoying the journey with our players is what I enjoy the most.
